Wedding Fever
Now don't get me wrong, I love a good wedding as much as the next person, but as a woman it can be exhausting trying to find a new outfit every time. I had five weddings this year and out of all five of them I bought a total of two new outfits. It's not that I won't spend the money on clothes, my boyfriend will tell you that's where most of my wages goes!
But for weddings I just love to beg, borrow or steal... or just swap with friends! I was bridesmaid for one of the weddings this year so my dress for that was sorted but to be honest I lend out my clothes constantly, so my friends are happy to do the same. Especially when you spend a lot of money on an outfit, you're delighted for it to get the wear!
Below is my 2015 wedding outfit lowdown...

One Pair of Jeans - Two looks
Every girl should own a pair of black skinny jeans, they are a wardrobe staple. Not only do they make you feel slim, but they go with most coloured accessories, shoes, bags and you can completely change the look with a different top and pair of shoes... as I did this weekend.

Black Skinny Jeans - Penneys
Leopard belt - Penneys
White Stilettos - River Island
Black shoes - Topshop
Friday Cocktails
I'm loving monochrome with a pop of a bright colour. I'm wearing a River Island stripe tank top, Zara skort, and pink river island sandals and pink clutch
Bonny Scotland
I intended on taking a lot more pictures on my visit to Edinburgh last weekend but unfortunately having fun got the better of me and I wasn't as snap happy as usual! But I did manage to take a couple of half decent outfit pics, although the quality of my iPhone camera leaves much to be desired! I was up late the night before we went trying to pack so I was extremely vigilant and literally packed an outfit for day and for night and planned each one in advance. I knew we would be sightseeing on Sunday (having been out the night before) so I brought a jumpsuit and my sunnies as they are quick and easy to throw on!

I heart pencil skirts
So I guess I have been going through a bit of a fashion phase in the last couple of months and I am a true believer that when you find a style you like, feel comfortable in, and it suits you... Stick to it! The phase I went through was with leather midi skirts, they are just so flattering and great for any occasion! Plus you can totally dress them up or down. I have a slight obsession with the River Island version, and can be seen wearing it in four colour variations below. Please note - Getting in and out of taxis is not advisable.
The thigh is the limit
Every girl knows that an LBD is a staple wardrobe piece, but what we dont all have is a thigh split dress. You could be covered everywhere else but for that one leg peeking out, and nothing screams sex appeal more than this! I purchased mine from ASOS but most online highstreet stores have their own version. Team with colour block accessories for a funkier look...
Casual Fridays
I am a big fan of the casual look and love nothing more than wearing one of my Victoria's Secret tracksuits on my day off. But these don't look too presentable when out and about and I definitely can't wear them to work on Casual Friday so I like to settle somewhere inbetween with a pair of ripped jeans or jeggings paired with Converse or wedge trainers.

The Black pencil skirt is a wardrobe staple and can
be dressed up for a night out or down for a daytime
occasion. I teamed mine with a River Island cami
above and a Zara poloneck on Christmas day

Wedding Style
So we attended a fabulous wedding in Lisloughrey Lodge two weekends ago and I had a disastrous time trying to get an outfit. I thought I had bought the 'perfect dress' in Cari's Closet until I tried it on for my friend and boyfriend and they informed me it was too short for daytime so I parked it in my wardrobe for another occasion and continued my search. I was delighted with my next purchase, an orange maxi with a thigh split from Warehouse (it looks red in all the pictures!). Simple, classy and definitely something I would wear again. Warehouse is definitely one of the best highstreet stores for occasion dresses, and it's not too pricey! I teamed the dress with gold accessories and MAC Lady Danger lipstick.

Galway Oyster Festival
So I guess that red is my favourite colour at the moment! Which is why I went for this dress at last weekend's H&A Marketing & PR corporate evening at the 59th Galway International Oyster Festival. I got the dress from Concepts, Oranmore, teamed with a New Look statement necklace and nude sandals from Sugar Hill Boutique in Manchester (they definitely looked better than they felt by the end of the night!)
Macklemore Concert
I decided to go urban chic for the concert last weekend and wore a Bershka graphic tee, Zara skort in black and ankle wedge boots (for some comfort!!) Great idea as we didn't stop dancing all night!!
Back to black
When all else fails - wear black!! I couldn't decide what to wear on this night out to the Comedy Cellar in Vicar Street, so I went with a reliable black Primark cami, River Island gold chain skirt, Zara sandals, River Island waterfall cardigan and statement New Look necklace
Leather lovin'
I'm dressed here for a family BBQ in a Miss Selfridge monochrome blazer, River Island teal cami, and my reliable Topshop leather shorts!
Lady in Red
I'm loving red at the moment - cami, and skirt both Topshop, multiple chain from Warehouse and nude sandals from a Manchester Boutique Sugar Hill!
Monochrome Lovin'
My friends and I went on a trip to achill last weekend, and it was only that I fully unpacked my case on Sunday morning that I realised that I am slightly obsessed with monochrome!! This was after an hour long wine-fueled conversation with my friend on how much we love penguins!! So here I am in my black&white faux leather top from Zara, River Island Molly jeggings, and River Island white studded slingback stilettos...
Friday Night
So I finally got to wear the 'skort' I bought in Zara and it is definitely my new obsession... LOVE them!! I bought the orange one but I think my next purchase will be the black. This is a skirt at the front and shorts at the back, and they are uber flattering on the pins... especially when your sunkissed in the summer. I was thinking that the black would also be perfect in winter with boots and tights! I paired mine with pointed courts, a slinky cami, smokey eyes and a chunky chain!
Cami - Primark, Skort - Zara €29.99. Chain - Miss Selfridge €19.99, and shoes - River Island €85 |
Chilled out Sunday
Cinema with my girls and the kids to see Monsters Inc, dinner at the in-laws, and shopping... what better outfit to wear on a casual Sunday than converse, jeggings, and a denim shirt! Love this colour for summer too, it's all about the turquoise!
Denim shirt - Primark, vest top - Primark, jeggings - Born, chain - bought on holiday in Portugal, and trainers - Converse |
Justin Timberlake Concert
No rain and lots of sunshine meant that I actually got to wear a dress and gladiator sandals to the concert in Phoenix Park! A far cry from the wellies and mud I had to face this weekend last year!Mango Dress, Miss Selfridge chain, and MAC Lady Danger lipstick |
Feeling Hot Hot Hot
Turquoise Cami - River Island €13, and Havaianas, Lifestyle Sports €10 |
Workwear
Some might call it power-dressing, I just like to look nice... ;)
Dress, Born Clothing, and Chain, Miss Selfridge |
